You can buy bags and buckets of wash. Take them with or use the fossicking tables and be guided through the process of fossicking and identifying sapphire and zircon. Found some gemstones? They can be weighed and you can have a value estimate before you leave.
Are you looking for that special gemstone for a bespoke piece? Local sapphire rough and cut, is available for purchase.

Come on an adventure and learn to mine for sapphires and zircons!
On our tours, you will learn to dig, sieve, wash, and identify sapphires and zircons with the help of an experienced sapphire miner at a local designated fossicking area.
Our tours include all of the equipment you need to fossick and includes your fossicking permit while on tour.
This is a Tag A Long Tour, so you will require your own 4wd as we will be driving on dirt roads.

Tours for the underground sapphire mine run hourly on the quarter past.
1st tour is 9.15. Minimum of 2 people.
We take you down 48 stairs and 15 metres underground, through 440 metres of the world's largest sapphire walk-in underground mine. We show you the history of sapphires. Memorabilia and artefacts on display. Experience living history at the Sapphire Gemfields.
